Oww oww OW!
I'm in a terrible, no good, bad mood.
When me and mom got back from doing a little Christmas shopping we went back to bed at around somewhere between 6:30AM and 7 AM. Flash forward to about 1 pm . (I'm still sleeping because I only got a couple of hours sleep before we had to get up to get ready for the sales)
When I woke up I had this terrible crick in my neck and it hasn't gone away in the nearly 6 hours I've been awake. the only thing I can compare it to is the time I stupidly gave myself an "adjustment" but this pain is slightly more tolerable than that was then. But not by much.
And all I did was sleep on my neck wrong. Ugh! Ow ow ow Pain!
BTW while we were out went went out to Radio Shack and picked out this bitchin' Kodak digital camera for me for Christmas (I can't actually have it until Christmas day). I've never actually had a digital camera before (I'm not counting the webcam I had a few years ago which did fail-y double duty, as crappy a digicam as it was a webcam.
And for about $20 more (thank to an instant rebate!) I got this awesome Polaroid PoGo instant mobile printer (No it's not pink even though that would be awesome. No ink to buy ever! but like the Polaroid cameras of old it take a special kind of paper (Zink!)
I want to play with it now so badly I can taste it, so instead I'll either zone out to the Criminal Minds maxi-marathon or I'll to what little headbobbing I can do (without pain and that's not much!) to my newly purchased Lady Gaga songs!

To start off with this entry is just to let off steam (which may or may not be shooting out of my ears right about now) on my behalf.
Unlike some self-professed "Experts" who think their opinion is "God's Word" (Don't worry folks it's no one on my friends list. Nor am I talking about a snotty Austen fan site) I actually appreciate most Vampire movies/books I see/read (Twilight and it's progeny being the exception of course. Can't stand the books and to a certain extent to movies are actually amusing but not in the ways the Author/screenplay writers intended them to be "Here's your garden burger, Stephanie!" hah!).
I'm talking about a certain person on IMDb on a vampire movie message board who refuses to believe that, yes, some people can actually like a different canon than the first movie (Am I dropping enough clues? lol) I personally prefer to think of it as a bit of an AU when compared to the first. (As is some of the same things may have happened but not all) I say to this person "Shut Up! and let people like what they like without turning you nose down at us (repeatedly, loudly, and often all over the 'net! Many time used the same argument copied and pasted with the occasional revision) It's been almost 8 YEARS since the movie was released! Chill the fuck out already!
*ahem* Yes, well that felt good to say/type and in case you're wondering I'm typing this while I wait for SGU to come on (Pathetic. yes I know but I'm got to keep up with 'canon' just in case for whatever reason I should feel like writing SG-1 fic again (or continue as the case may be)
So! A list of my Favorite vampire movies (in not particular order unless otherwise noted)
Queen of the Damned
Let the Right One In
Blade
Van Helsing
Underworld (I'm counting all the movies an one)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
LXG (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is not technically a vampire movie but it DOES have a vampire in it so I'm counting it)
Interview with the Vampire (I like it well enough, despite Tom Cruise chronic-overacting((which I don't believe even 'Lestat' himself, in the books, was ever THAT bad)) but to me it belongs on the bottom of my list)
I'm judging this on my DVD collection and I can't remember ever Vampire movie I've ever seen but these are, in my opinion, top notch
And as an added bonus I recently, for the first time read this fabulous little short story by Neil Gaiman where Snow White isn't as innocent as she seems to be.
And as for the entry title?
I just think PPZ is awesome and Twilight is not.

Especially after crazy amount of Twi-hards and their parents flooded our local theater last year (and just a few looky-loos who haven't read the books but who wanted to see the movie for one reason or another. I should know I was one of them. I am not a twi-hard though, you all know my beloved readers know I'm an Anti and proud of it!)
I will however, be going somewhat undercover as a Twi-fan this time (I know I'm cringing too) I was in Hot Topic just the other night just to see how much Twi-junk had filled the store. My God! I don't think even the New Kids on the Block in the prime had this much junk! NO I don't have aTwi-hoodie or t-shirt, nor will I be covered in sparkles of any type.
I will however be dressed up pretty normally except for the addition of a replica of Victoria's necklace. (evil red-haired vamp from the first and second movies, you can't miss her) Three rings, a couple of beads and something that looks like it used to be a watch. It really is cooler than it looks and a nice long 19-inches. I also bought a 2-pack of rubber bracelets I would've only bought the one of my choosing if they'd be sold separately. The one I'll be wearing is red, has a Volturi crest charm attached to it and says "This may hurt just a little" *cackles*
You wouldn't believe just how much junk was in that store. They had jewelry boxes too. one that played "Bella's Lullaby" (which I admit is very pretty but way undeserving of the character it got saddled with) and one that played "Claire de Lune" and bother were plastered with images of the main duo from the movies. It's enough to make anyone scream! Though I don't know if they had it in my store ( I wasn't looking for it) they even have Bella's "Birthday Dress" there (from the movie, my GOD is that pathetic of what? They probably wish they'd had Bella's Prom Dress too *eyeroll*)
Twi-everything. I'm so not joking
umbrellas, pillowcases, makeup, makeup boxes, tote bags, t-shirts, key chains, posters, rings (Edward has a new one and Bella has a Cullen ring of her own WTF!), bracelets, necklaces, scarfs, hair clips, beanies, friendship necklaces, wallets, his and hers rings (sold as a set, and I have no doubt many will pick them up as wedding bands!) bandaids, doorknob hangers, pins, party packs (paper cups, napkins, paper plates and possibly balloons), bookmarks, movie companions, bag clips, calendars, pens, puzzles, soundtracks, fleece throws, duvet covers, magnets, lunchboxs, iPod skins (for 3 and 4 generation Nanos, iPhones , iTouch, blackberries, iPods) and surprisingly though? I didn't see any action figures this time...but they did have PACKING TAPE. I SHIT YOU NOT!

I was doing some "research" for shits and giggles on Victoria (aka the "evil" red haired female vamp in the Twilight SERIES, hah) Even though I loathe the book series and poke fun and roll my eyes at the awesome horribleness that is Twilight the Movie. (I plan on Seeing New Moon when it's released to do the same thing).
So what made me giggle was the fact that Victoria that Victoria's last name is "Sutherland".
Why that made me cackle with wickedness you may ask? Easy. "Southerland" was/is my Granny's maiden name! And the fact that I have a keychain with the "Sutherland" coat of arms makes me laugh even harder! You know what the Sutherland/Southerland family motto is?
"No Fear"
No, I am not shittin' you!
Now if any remotely diehard Twihard sees me keychain(s) they may think they're all Twilight-related and THUS I must be a Twihard too (Uh, NO! I just want Victoria to beat the snot out of Bella, or eat her.) Either way and I'll be extremely Happy. I'm still pissed James didn't get to finish the job :p. hah!
(And I only got a Cullen crest bag clip for 2 reason only #1 It's cool looking despite the lame movie from which it was spawned.
#2 I really like lions okay?! (I'm a Leo and I was born on the year of the rabbit/cat! I am INDEED a cat person! want it confirmemed? On the Sutherland/Southerland coat of arms itself is...a cat! MEOW! lol Please, forgive my wonko mood)
(Um did I forget to mention I bought a keychain of the tattoo that's in New Moon? I only bought it because it looked cool!I swear!) Oh yeah I'll be rootin' for the so-called "bad guys" even though I find Dr. Cullen oddly attractive. I must have a thing for his because of a certain other blond-haired vampire *sighs* Where's Lestat when you need him to wipe out all these weirdoes?
UGH! Save me I'm drowning in stupidness!

It seems that my second favorite country band Sugarland (and I'm not much into country outside of Garth Brooks, Dixie Chicks and Sugarland. Personally I don't count Taylor Swift as country despite the fact that she is)

As much as I love and respect Sugarland, I hope they just stick the song on their next album. Aw man I thought they were safe from all the Twilight weirdoes out there!

Remind me to post my new Starust icons tomorrow. I don't think I''ll have time to do so tomorow until I get how from work AND watch/record CSI: Miami (yay for the triple crossover this week!)
So I did my usual thing at Wal-Mart today and tried to keep my shopping expenses down if I'm going to Johnson City this coming weekend. And so while I was walking around looking I saw something that caught my eye. Several movie three packs, each for $15. So I scanned the boxed just to see what they had not that I was interested. As I was turning away one movie on one of the packs caught my eye.
Stardust!. Now I can hear you all say "But you already have that on DVD!"
True but there was a scratch at a certain part of the movie and when it would reach it it would flutter, skip and jump to the next scene. Which I found so annoying that I would have to stop the movie, take it out of my DVD-Rom, clean it, put it back into the DVD-Rom, wait for the disc to start up again, wait for the menu to appear, then go to scene selection, then fuss with the meter just a tad to the section of the movie where it started skipping in the first place!
So you see why I bought the three movie set just to get that one? Now I could've gotten it separately and for cheaper before then but then it would have been in full frame. I HATE full frame. I avoid buying it if at all possible. Needless to say I whine like a mule whenever I watch NBC because I'm alway missing the sides of the show when I watch them (and that bites especially when I comes to Heroes.
I have no interest in seeing" Harriet the Spy or "Hotel for Dogs" (the other two movie in the set) I'd toss them away but who knows for whatever reason I might be bored out of my skull enough to watch them someday.
Also I'm going back to work Monday but it's only part-time and only one day a week for 6 and a half hours, which will allow me to still be able to draw unemployment. Providing he (Bob the boss) calls me at all. Hey something is better than nothing!

Anyone on my friends list like "Owl City"? ( The Ocean Eyes album in particular) I find the young Mr. Young (hah!) to be utterly adorable. The album to me is sweet synthy pop genius I bought it on iTunes because I didn't think WalMart would ever have it (I was wrong! And they have it for $10 the last time I checked) But on itunes they had a few tracks hat the hard copy didn't have and I felt happier with my purchase (I discovered him a while back when iTunes had "Fireflies" as a free download) and have since picked up a few other tracks since then from other album. I've never regreted a one of them.
So...anyone else a fan?

I haven't read his blog in a while, but I doubt the commenters in question were as bad as he made them out to be. He's gonna have to learn how to put on his big boy pants and ignore them!
Yeah I know..nap now!

I'm working on a rant about a certain site elitist views on a class of books that have recent become all the rage. Oh SURE they like the one that's written by a woman...but the ones written by men? They have HISSY fits over (I'm revealing nothing more than that outside of a locked entry) Oh sure they don't make the connection in that but it's just something I've noticed. I may write something further on the subject later, but for now I've got to get back to my rant (and trying to keep naughty words out of it because I have no idea when or if my relatives on Facebook may do some random link surfing from my profile there. And yeah, I'm not that stupid to add the link to this journal to that profile. I gotta have somewhere to go wheren I wanna have a profanity-filled rant or two heh.
ETA: Looks like I'll have to finish the rant later as my body is telling me that it's time to take a nap *blergh*
ETA2:(a few hours late) Ok Up and working on the rant again all the while watching "Criminal Minds" and waiting for "Heroes"

Of all varieties (even though I wouldn't call those blood-sucking fairies from the Twilight series "vampires") Don't worry there's plenty of other vampires in the linked entry I just though for one reason or another, in some misguided way that the picture used for certain icons were pretty enough to make icons of. this does NOT make me a fan of the Twilight series (because calling it a Saga is dumb and incorrect)

So I felt inspired enough yesterday to finish off a few selections of icons I'd been working off and on for a while now (Happy Halloween BTW!) and with the recent announcement of a prequel book to the best selling smash "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". Which is... "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls" when I saw the cover I went into half-squeals of delight (they hadn't been louder because of the neighbors..egad)
the summary:
In this terrifying and hilarious prequel, we witness the genesis of the zombie plague in early-nineteenth century
England. We watch Elizabeth Bennet evolve from a naïve young teenager into a savage slayer
of the undead. We laugh as she begins her first clumsy training with nunchucks and katana swords and
cry when her first blush with romance goes tragically awry. Written by acclaimed novelist (and Edgar
Award nominee) Steve Hockensmith, Dawn of the Dreadfuls invites Austen fans to step back into Regency
England, Land of the Undead!
Anyway thanks to the cover, it gave me boost enough to round up all of my most recent icons that hadn't been posted as of that time, then to make a few more. Below is a preiew and a link to the icons if you like what you see.

2.
3.
the amount is as follows
1- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (pre-monsterization cover, Portrait of Marcia Fox by William Beechey)
2 - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Dawn of the Dreadfuls
4 - Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters
12 - Enchanted

The Brothers Grimm soundtrack! (I looked over on Amazon as well and it's available to download there too!) You know who it was by? Dario fucking Marianelli! You know...the guys who scored the 2005 version of "Pride & Prejudice", "Atonement" AND "The Soloist".
Yeah, that guy.
So I'm downloading it RFN. You know how hard that was to find? VERY!
(I also LOVE that movie I don't care what anyone else days. I mean how could not love this silly, fun, sweet, and lovely little movie that stars both Heath Ledger and Matt Damon (Not a fan of Matt though his character grew on me though he could be a complete bastard to his brother Jacob aka Jake at times)
Go but it NOW, if you like Dario Marianelli's work or the movie, I promise you you're in for a treat not a trick.
Yeah, that guy.
